What does it mean to tell a lie? To tell a lie means expressing a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood. Action intended to convey a false impression.
Men lie, Women lie, politicians lie black or white, Politicians are most often than not tell classic lies; they tell a lie or 2 to either sweet talk you to to choose wrongly.
Why do people lie?
People tell a lie because they are afraid of what others will think about what they had done or the kind of person they are and what can be found out about them. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger. Some does something wrong and since they want to avoid the consequences of their actions, they lie to cover up what they did.
As often said about political scandals: It’s not the crime that gets you in trouble, nearly as much as the cover-up.
Especially ladies typically motivated by a desire to get other people to either do something or not do something, or to make a decision in the favor of the person doing the lying. Someone might lie to get something they desire such as sex, money, status, power, love, etc.
People tell a lie as a tool to create a favorable image of themselves. This leads to exaggeration, which is a form of lying. Often people will create fascinating, yet completely false, stories to improve their image.
4. To avoid hurting someones feelings
Bottom line: We deceive other people because we think it serves our purposes in some way. And it’s easy! Tell me something a kid might lie about and I will show you a politician that needs to grow up.
How, then, can we best detect whether we are being misled? There is no foolproof way, but there are often clues you can see in behavior that should make you suspicious:
1. Avoidance of eye contact:
Usually someone makes eye contact at least half the time they are talking to you. If you notice them avoiding eye contact or looking down during a specific part of a conversation, they may well be lying.
2. Change of voice:
A variation in pitch of voice or rate of speech can be a sign of lying. So can lots of umms and ahhs.
3. Body language.
Turning your body away, covering your face or mouth, a lot of fidgeting of hands or legs can indicate deception.
4. Contradicting yourself:.
Making statements that just don’t hold together should make you suspicious.
